PROJECT

As part of dissertation research, I am reaching out to school and academic libraries in New York state and across New England.  I am interested how school libraries are adapting to the changes brought about by new learning models, 21st century workforce needs, rapid advances in technologies, and funding issues.  I have created a survey for all New York school librarians. (Click here to see results.)  In addition, I will be visiting several modern and award-winning school libraries/learning commons including: Staples High School Learning Commons in Westport, CT, New Canaan High School Library, in New Canaan, CT, and Syracuse University Learning Commons. Pictures and descriptions will be posted on this site.  I am also collecting stories from libraries that are transitioning from traditional libraries to more modern library facilities.  In addition, I will be conducting action research at Smithtown High School West as it begins its transition from a traditional library media center to a more modern learning commons.  If you would like to share your story, click here.
